BlogWire FAQ

What does BlogWire do?
BlogWire is a newswire service for the blogosphere. We distribute news, contests, product samples and company information to specific blogger verticals and to the bloggers who are interested in hearing and covering them. Our fees are newswire distribution fees, and are not used to compensate our bloggers for their posts.
Do you pay your bloggers? What is their incentive to cover our product/service?
Our bloggers are not paid for their posts. They are bloggers who registered for a community because they have an interest in building relationships with PR pros, receiving product samples, news releases, or being involved in contests or hosting contests for their readers. Their motivation to write is the same motivation that drives any other reporter or blogger – they want to share your story with their readers. If you have a great product or service, or a timely contest or announcement, our bloggers are interested in covering it.
Can I see what bloggers are in your communities?
To manage privacy and avoid our bloggers feeling “spammed,” we don’t distribute any blogger information to PR pros. If you want to get a sense of who is in our blogging community, you can take a look at our Twitter followers (@sheblogsnetwork) or browse through some of our other announcements and contests to read through some of our bloggers’ reviews or posts.
How do I issue my release?
That’s easy! Select your distribution from our Services menu, upload the necessary information, and check out. The entire process can be completed in under 10 minutes.
How quickly can you issue a release?
During regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm), we can have a release live on our site within 90 minutes of checkout. During off hours and on weekends, please allow up to 6 hours for items to go live.
How can I track my campaign?
We have tracking tools coming soon, but in the meantime, we ask all of our bloggers to post links to their stories in the comments section of your release. We ask that you also run a quick Google search as well, since many posts still go unreported.
I am a small business. Is this a good investment for a limited marketing budget?
Absolutely! Press placements in the blogosphere not only drive traffic and boost your Web site’s SEO, but product reviews and stories are great ways to introduce potential customers to your company and make them aware of your offerings. You can also use quotes from our bloggers’ posts on your site to boost your own credibility to consumers who find you through paid AdWords or natural searches.
I work for a marketing/PR firm and we already work with many bloggers. How is your service different from the services we already provide?
Our blogwire distributions are a perfect complement to your existing service line. We can get your client extra press placements, which is a win for everyone involved, and we can handle billing through your client or through your firm. Much like a placement on a traditional newswire service, we help get the word out about your announcement, and list your contact information so that our bloggers can get in touch with you. We’re also a great resource for last-minute campaigns.
What types of campaigns are most effective?
Creative and timely releases always do well, as do contests or promotions for our bloggers, but news releases are very well received by the community. For small businesses looking for less of an immediate rush of posts and a steady stream of inquiries, company directory listings offer a way to be found and contacted for a one year period.
